Tyson is staying home in Texas! iReporter Jake Canter confirms Weiss forward Tyson Whybrew ('22) will begin his college playing days at Weatherford College.
Tyson begin his Varsity playing days as a freshman, getting into 33 games, averaging 4 points/5 boards. As a Super Soph, Whybrew steadily improved but truly broke out his junior season. In his District 18-5A debut, Whybrew doubled his scoring average to nearly 10 points/game, while pulling down a career high 8 rebounds a game.
In his final season, Tyson helped lead his team to the Regional Championship, before falling to eventual State champion Beaumont United. Whybrew again garnered First Team All District honors, including District MVP. His average of 15 points per game and nearly 2 steals/game were both career highs.
We've watched him elevate his game in major proportions each year, and know his best is yet to come. We'll be watching, Tyson. Go get 'em, and congrats!
