iReporter Liberty Stallings confirms Vandegrift defensive lineman Daemian Wimberly ('23) verbally committed to SMU. The 6'5 255 pound lineman earned a spot on the All FLX Preseason Watch list, despite limited playing time in 2021.
Wimberley totaled just 20 total tackles (2 TFL), but his potential was obviously identified by scouts across the country.
Daemian and the Vipers open the regular season versus Dripping Springs on August 26th at Monroe Stadium.
