Major move as we hit the midway point of July, one that could truly turn some tides.  It has been confirmed that wide receiver Joe Moreland ('23) (6'4, 220) will transfer from St. Micheals, where he has been a star the past three seasons.  He will instead play his Varsity season at Dripping Springs High School.

Moreland was a three-sport star for St Michaels (football, basketball, track), helping lead the Crusaders deep into the TAPPS playoffs both 2020 and 2021 seasons.  Garnering playing time as a freshman, he truly broke out his sophomore year with 34 catches, 380 yards and 2 TDs.  But his junior year is what turned heads.  Moreland had 52 catches for 800+ yards and 15 touchdowns.

His 6'4 frame and skill set has already earned him offers via Incarnate Word and others.  He will now team with future D1 quarterback Austin Novosad, as Dripping Springs gears up for their 6A debut.  With All FLX preseason watch list WR Kyle Koch ('24) on the shelf until district play, Moreland will more than fill the void left.
