A talented Manor team but I worry about the lack of discipline that's been shown this year. Talent can win you so many games but not against a well-coached and well-oiled machine in Vandegrift.

Omitting the Vista Ridge v McNeil pick because I'm calling the game and it's a conflict of interest

Georgetown coming off a tough loss A&M consolidated should bounce back against Hendrickson this week. Vandegrift vs. Manor could be the game of the week in what I think will be physical battle between Manors stout offense and Vandegrift’s sneaky D. This Westwood vs. Cedar Ridge could be a toss up for me. Cedar Ridge has had a brutal non district schedule and land a 1-3, while Westwood stands at 3-1. Ill take Westwood to edge the raiders in a close battle. Glenn should knock Leander in what might be a closer match than some think, and I will take Vista Ridge to beat McNeil. Last week was the last time I bet against the Rangers.

This week’s matchups could all come down to the wire in my opinion. No one team seems too dominant for their matchup this week, and I’m so pumped to see the way they play out. I’m taking Manor in an upset at Home vs Vandegrift. Glenn will run away with that game late in the 2nd half. Leander’s defense has had some tough sledding in non-district play facing the likes of College Station, and holding Pville to just 7 points. DJ Dugar has been unstoppable the past 2 weeks, and I think that gives Glenn the edge over Leander. I’m rolling with the Woodstock this week over Cedar Ridge. Vista Ridge and Jackson Harrell should take care of business against McNeil, which I could also see being a one score difference. 

SNUPE DANIEL (14-11) 

Hendrickson v Georgetown - The Oldoerp Bowl, Hawks and Eagles have always given us entertaining match ups over the years.  At The Pfield, the Hawks will have an edge - but we ranked Georgetown our FLX Top ranked 5A DI school earlier this year, and that sentiment has not changed with me.  Booras rise writes a new chapter.  Eagles, -6

Manor v Vandegrift - Game of the Night, and for me, the entire season.  This game will teach us more about Manor than anyone.  Vandegrift the model of consistency versus our area's team the the greatest x-factor upside.  Remember when the Mustangs upset state ranked Cedar Park in Regional playoffs (2019)? It will take that kind of effort for Keller's team to prevail.  I feel Manor grows up alot in this game, but the Vipers protect Monroe.  Vandegrift, -3.5

Westwood v Cedar Ridge - Round Rock ISD's winningest program in the last decade are Coach Sam Robinson's Raiders.  But ever CR's cousin Stony Point, had a long run of success before an eventual step back.  Is this the year?  Westwood feels they are a program with savage momentum despite a lopsided loss to Round Rock in district opener.  Both teams coming off losses, this will be the hottest contested battle between these two teams, ever.  Warriors, -1.

Leander v Glenn - AC Bible Memorial Stadium will witness a game of epic biblical proportions.  Lions coming off first loss of the season, Grizzlies got back into the groove last week.  The Lions toppled the Grizzlies in 2021's season opener for one of their only two wins.  Glenn won 2 years ago by a possession. Another close one awaits, Grizzlies, -3.

Vista Ridge v McNeil - While I love what Coach Scott Hermes has done in a short period to rebuild pride in the this McNeil program, I have been putting my personal stamp on this Vista Ridge team since early 2021.  Coach Chad Scott's decision to play that group of sophomores will pay off dividends this year.  I feel that continues on Friday.  Rangers, -7.

There are some teams on this list that may have had down years as of late, but this year I think they are favorites in games that they may have been expected to lose before the season started.

Georgetown is one of the best offenses in our area, as per usual. I love my hawks but the Eagles may be just a little too much. The Vandegrift v Manor match up is easily the game of the week. Manor is must watch Tv but coach sanders has made a career around game planning and adjusting against high powered offenses.
