Austin-area Thursday Night (Week Four) Slate (September 16)

Sep 16, 2021, 12:24 PM

Where is this year flying off to?  Believe it or not, after this weekend, many of our area teams will be halfway done with their season.  We have a few games on tap tonight, before a abbreviated Friday slate (3 of our 5 major districts have off for bye week).  Let's look ahead to tonight!

(PARMER PALACE) Hutto Hippos (1-2) vs Westwood Warriors (1-2)

NOTES: The Hippos are still without a home stadium after the Summer storms delayed construction on their new facility.  Tonight was supposed to be the day it returns, but Homecoming will be held at Kelly Reeves Athletic Complex.  Warriors have two outstanding sophomore options at QB, and Mike Davis has ceased the moment to take the helm.  We are deeming it the Orange Soda Bowl.

(PANTHER STADIUM) Liberty Hill Panthers (2-1) vs LBJ Jaguars (3-0)

NOTES: The blockbuster match up that never happened in 2020 (due to COVID).  We will finally get to see the monster Purple Pride Bowl as 4A State hopeful LBJ battles former 4A powerhouse (now 5A emerging program) Liberty Hill.  Both teams have stingy on defense, allowing 1 score or less in 2 of their 3 games played.  LH coming off emotional win over Del Valle on the late Coach Walker's birthday.  LBJ coming off a long Dallas trip to edge a Top 10 TAPPS program in Episcopal.  Something's gotta give tonight.
