Below the cloud of COVID-19 that affects us all, real life is also still happening. Bowie student athlete Evan Mallett was injured in a car wreck earlier this week, and is still recovering.
Students, friends and family gathered in the parking lot of St. David’s Hospital (South Austin) to show support for Evan. Pastor Casey Benson shared a word with the group.
Mallet burst on the high school football team as a Super Sophomore in 2018. He first made a splash with the Bulldogs’ 7s program, before chipping in at QB and DB during his Varsity debut. Evan went on to contribute all over the field his junior season. His unselfishness on the field helped Bowie maintain a 15+ year playoff run by the program. He was expected to be an All District First Team contender going into senior year.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Evan as he works towards recovery.
